The blunt, flattened lower tip is the whole point of the design: it slides safely under a bandage or dressing against the patient’s skin while the upper blade cuts. Material, Finish and Quality Control
We forge bandage scissors from AISI 420 martensitic stainless. The blunt probe tip is checked for smoothness and radius, since a sharp or burred tip defeats the safety purpose of the instrument. Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on blunt tip radius and finish, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
