Scalpel Handles manufactured by Surgical Star
Surgical Star is a Sialkot-based Scalpel handles manufacturer and supplier. Scalpel handles are reusable stainless handles that carry a detachable surgical blade, supplied in numbered patterns that match specific blade sizes. Forged from German-grade AISI 420 and 316L stainless, the grade selected to match the working part — hardened 420 where an edge or ratchet must hold, 316L where corrosion resistance matters most — and available as an OEM / private-label line with low MOQs and a sample approved before bulk.

Scalpel Handles — Pattern and Clinical Use

The handle number determines which blades will fit, and that compatibility is the single most important thing a buyer must get right. A No. 3 handle takes the small blades (10, 11, 12, 15) used for fine and precise incisions; a No. 4 handle takes the larger blades (20–24) used for heavier work. No. 7 is a slim, long-shanked version of the No. 3 for deep and delicate fields, and No. 9 is a fine handle for small-scale work.

Handles are also supplied with graduated scales etched along the shank, and in round-pattern versions that can be rolled between the fingers for fine control. Fitment tolerance at the blade slot is the critical dimension — a loose blade is a safety hazard.

Material, Finish and Quality Control

We forge Scalpel handles from German-grade AISI 420 and 316L stainless. The blade slot is gauged on every handle, because a handle that holds a blade loosely is a sharps-safety failure rather than a quality inconvenience. Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on blade slot fitment gauge, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.

Who Sources Scalpel Handles From Surgical Star

Scalpel handles are a permanent catalog line for hospital, dental, veterinary and podiatry distributors, and are usually ordered as a matrix of handle numbers. They pair naturally with a blade line as a linked SKU.

OEM, Certification and Ordering

Every Scalpel handles can be produced as a private-label line: your logo laser-marked on the shank, your catalog numbers, and your own printed packaging, manufactured from your drawings or a reference sample. Production runs inside a documented ISO 13485 quality system, with CE marking under EU MDR 2017/745 and US FDA establishment registration behind it. Your shipment carries a certificate of conformity plus the ASTM F899 material certificate for the grade actually used.

Minimums stay deliberately low so a new brand can launch without a heavy first order, and pricing is quoted direct from the factory on volume tiers. Bulk production usually takes four to six weeks from sample approval, shipped DDP with export paperwork and HS codes handled. See how OEM & private label works →

Frequently Asked Questions

Which blades fit a No. 3 scalpel handle?

Blades 10, 11, 12 and 15 — the smaller sizes used for fine, precise incisions. A No. 4 handle takes the larger 20–24 series instead.

What is the difference between a No. 3 and a No. 7 handle?

Both take the same small blades, but the No. 7 has a slim, longer shank designed for deep or delicate fields where a bulkier handle would obstruct.

Can you supply handles with a graduated scale?

Yes. Scale-etched handles are a common specification, and the graduation can be applied alongside your own branding on private-label runs.

Can you manufacture these under our own brand?

Yes — full OEM and private label. We laser-mark your logo and catalog numbers, pack in your branded boxes, and work from your drawings, tech pack or a reference sample, with a pre-production sample approved before any bulk run.
