Blade and wire surfaces contacting the lid margin must be smooth and correctly radiused, since the instrument sits against tissue for the entire operation. Spring tension has to hold the lids without generating pressure on the globe.

Material, Finish and Quality Control

Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on lid-contact radius and spring tension, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
