Curettage clears a bone cavity down to healthy bleeding bone — in debriding infection, removing a cyst or preparing a bed for grafting. The cup edge scrapes rather than cuts, and the surgeon works by feel, distinguishing soft diseased tissue from firm healthy bone through the instrument. Angled and reverse-angled patterns reach around a cavity’s internal contours.
Curettes are supplied in graduated cup sizes and are usually double-ended with two sizes or angles. Cup edge sharpness must be consistent around the full circumference, since an uneven edge scrapes unpredictably.

Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on cup edge consistency, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
