Luc Forceps — Pattern and Clinical Use
Luc forceps take controlled bites of tissue in the nose and antrum. The angled shaft carries the small cupped jaws around the corner into the sinus while keeping the handle clear of the nostril and the surgeon’s line of sight, and the cup shape means each bite removes a defined piece rather than tearing. They are a standard instrument in antral and polyp surgery.
Jaw cups must meet cleanly around their whole rim so tissue is cut rather than avulsed. A jaw that meets only at one edge tears the mucosa, which bleeds more and leaves ragged tissue.

Material, Finish and Quality Control

Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on cup rim meeting, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
