Tenotomy scissors cut in tight, delicate spaces. The blades are short and fine with a flattened profile that slides between structures, and they are used for dividing tendons, fine tissue release and precise dissection in ophthalmic, plastic and hand surgery. Blades are supplied sharp or blunt-tipped and straight or curved depending on how the operator needs to approach.
Because the blades are short and fine, a very small manufacturing error is proportionally large. Blade meeting must be verified under magnification — a gap that would be invisible on a Mayo scissor makes a tenotomy scissor useless.
