Bowel must be occluded during resection and anastomosis without crushing the wall, and that is exactly what the Doyen is designed for. Its jaws are long, comparatively flexible and finely serrated along their length, so they close the lumen by gentle even pressure rather than by clamping force concentrated at one point. Straight and curved patterns are both standard.
Jaw flexibility is the defining characteristic and the hardest thing to get right. Too stiff and the clamp crushes; too soft and it fails to occlude. The temper and jaw section are what deliver it, not the serration pattern.

Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on jaw flexibility to target, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
