Corneal Scissors manufactured by Surgical Star
Surgical Star is a Sialkot-based Corneal scissors manufacturer and supplier. Corneal scissors are fine angled ophthalmic scissors used to enlarge corneal and scleral incisions and to trim corneal grafts. Forged from AISI 420 martensitic stainless, hardened and tempered so the working edge survives repeated reprocessing, then passivated for corrosion resistance — and available as an OEM / private-label line with low MOQs and a sample approved before bulk.

Corneal Scissors — Pattern and Clinical Use

Corneal scissors extend a keratome incision to the required width and trim graft tissue in keratoplasty. They are supplied as left and right pairs because the blade angulation allows the incision to be extended in one direction only — a right-cutting scissor extends clockwise, a left-cutting one anticlockwise. Blade tips are usually blunt to avoid perforating deeper structures.

One blade is typically slightly longer than the other so it can be introduced under the incision edge without lifting it. Blade meeting must be verified under magnification, since a fine corneal blade that gaps will crush rather than cut.

Material, Finish and Quality Control

We forge Corneal scissors from AISI 420 martensitic stainless. Blade meeting is verified under high magnification along the short cutting length, since a gap at this scale crushes rather than cuts. Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on blade meeting under high magnification, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.

Who Sources Corneal Scissors From Surgical Star

Corneal scissors sell as left/right pairs to cataract and corneal surgeons, and are standard in keratoplasty and anterior-segment sets.

OEM, Certification and Ordering

Every Corneal scissors can be produced as a private-label line: your logo laser-marked on the handle, your catalog numbers, and your own printed packaging, manufactured from your drawings or a reference sample. Manufactured under an ISO 13485 quality system, CE-marked to EU MDR 2017/745 and covered by US FDA establishment registration. A certificate of conformity and an ASTM F899 material certificate for the exact steel grade ship with your order.

MOQs are low and new-brand friendly, and vary with pattern, finish and branding. Pricing is direct from the factory and tiered by volume. After you approve a branded pre-production sample, bulk production typically runs four to six weeks and ships worldwide DDP with HS codes handled. See how OEM & private label works →

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are corneal scissors sold in left and right?

Blade angulation allows the incision to be extended in one direction only, so a pair is needed to work both clockwise and anticlockwise.

Why is one blade longer?

So it can be introduced under the incision edge without lifting or distorting it as the cut is made.

Are the tips sharp or blunt?

Usually blunt, to reduce the risk of perforating deeper structures while extending an incision.

Can you manufacture these under our own brand?

Yes — full OEM and private label. We laser-mark your logo and catalog numbers, pack in your branded boxes, and work from your drawings, tech pack or a reference sample, with a pre-production sample approved before any bulk run.
