Chalazion Forceps — Pattern and Clinical Use
The forceps clamp the lid with the chalazion presenting through the open ring, which does three things at once: it isolates the lesion for incision, it stabilises the mobile lid, and the clamping pressure provides haemostasis so the field stays clear. The solid plate on the opposite side protects the globe from the blade.
Ring diameter is chosen for lesion size, and the screw-clamp must hold pressure steadily without slipping during curettage. The plate must be smooth on the globe-facing side, since it sits directly against the eye.
