Wire Cutters manufactured by Surgical Star
Surgical Star is a Sialkot-based wire cutters manufacturer and supplier. Surgical wire cutters are heavy-duty cutters designed to divide orthopedic wire, pins and cerclage material. Forged from AISI 420 stainless with tungsten-carbide inserts, the carbide insert giving substantially longer working life than plain stainless, with gold-marked rings identifying the carbide pattern — and available as an OEM / private-label line with low MOQs and a sample approved before bulk.

Wire Cutters — Pattern and Clinical Use

Orthopedic wire is hardened stainless and far tougher than it looks, which is why general instruments fail on it. Wire cutters carry hardened, often carbide-tipped edges and a compound action to divide cerclage wire, Kirschner wires and small pins cleanly. A clean cut matters because a burred or crushed wire end snags tissue and is difficult to bend or bury.

Cutting capacity must be stated and respected: cutting beyond the rated diameter chips the edges, and a chipped cutter then crushes rather than shears. Front-cutting and side-cutting patterns are used depending on access.

Material, Finish and Quality Control

We forge wire cutters from AISI 420 stainless with tungsten-carbide inserts. Cutting edges are tested on rated-diameter wire stock and hardness verified, since cutting beyond capacity chips edges into crushing rather than shearing. Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on edge integrity at rated capacity, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.

Who Sources Wire Cutters From Surgical Star

Wire cutters sell to orthopedic trauma distributors and are standard in fixation and removal sets, with carbide-tipped patterns as the premium specification.

OEM, Certification and Ordering

Every wire cutters can be produced as a private-label line: your logo laser-marked on the handle, your catalog numbers, and your own printed packaging, manufactured from your drawings or a reference sample. Production runs inside a documented ISO 13485 quality system, with CE marking under EU MDR 2017/745 and US FDA establishment registration behind it. Your shipment carries a certificate of conformity plus the ASTM F899 material certificate for the grade actually used.

Minimums stay deliberately low so a new brand can launch without a heavy first order, and pricing is quoted direct from the factory on volume tiers. Bulk production usually takes four to six weeks from sample approval, shipped DDP with export paperwork and HS codes handled. See how OEM & private label works →

Frequently Asked Questions

Why not use general cutters on orthopedic wire?

Orthopedic wire is hardened stainless and will chip or blunt general cutters. Dedicated wire cutters use hardened or carbide-tipped edges.

What does cutting capacity mean?

The maximum wire diameter the cutter is rated for. Exceeding it chips the edges, after which the cutter crushes rather than shears.

Front or side cutting?

Side cutters take wire running alongside the jaws; front cutters take it perpendicular. Access at the fracture site determines which is needed.

Can you manufacture these under our own brand?

Yes — full OEM and private label. We laser-mark your logo and catalog numbers, pack in your branded boxes, and work from your drawings, tech pack or a reference sample, with a pre-production sample approved before any bulk run.
