Suture Passers — Pattern and Clinical Use
In confined or deep spaces — laparoscopic port closure, arthroscopic repair, fascial closure through a small incision — a curved needle on a holder cannot be manoeuvred. A suture passer is a slim shafted instrument that carries the suture through tissue and either releases it or retrieves it on the far side, allowing closure through access a conventional technique cannot manage.
The suture-retention mechanism is the critical part: it must hold the suture through the tissue pass and release it reliably on command. A passer that drops the suture mid-pass means starting the manoeuvre again in a confined space.

Material, Finish and Quality Control

Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on suture retention and release, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
