Foot Rasps — Pattern and Clinical Use
A foot rasp reduces built-up hard skin on the heel and sole, working across a broad area rather than a defined lesion. Professional rasps are stainless and autoclavable so they can be reused between clients, while retail versions are supplied for personal use. The rasp is used on dry or slightly damp skin depending on the abrasive type.
Abrasive surface durability is what customers judge these on: a rasp that loses its cut after a few uses is a poor product regardless of appearance. Professional versions must also survive repeated autoclaving without the abrasive surface degrading.

Material, Finish and Quality Control
We forge Foot rasps from AISI 420 martensitic stainless. Abrasive durability is tested over repeated use and, on professional patterns, after autoclave cycling. Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on abrasive durability and autoclave resistance, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
