The blade sits in a guarded head so only a controlled depth of skin contacts the edge, and the guard is what makes the tool usable — an unguarded blade on callused skin removes too much too easily.
Blade guarding depth is the safety-critical dimension: too shallow and it will not cut, too deep and it takes healthy tissue. Because blades are consumable and replaced frequently, the blade-change mechanism must be simple but secure.

Material, Finish and Quality Control

Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on guard depth and blade retention, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
