Beyond diagnostic biopsy, dermal punches are used to excise small lesions completely and to harvest follicular units in hair restoration. In hair transplantation the punch diameter is critical — typically under 1 mm — because the graft must include the follicle without excess surrounding tissue, and the donor site must heal without visible scarring.
Sub-millimetre punches used for follicular harvesting demand a different manufacturing standard from diagnostic punches: the wall must be very thin to minimise tissue displacement, yet the edge must stay sharp through many repeated cuts in a single session.

Material, Finish and Quality Control

Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on wall thickness and edge retention, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
