Larger basins need rim rigidity or they distort in handling, and a distorted basin no longer sits flat or stacks correctly. Rolled or beaded rims provide that stiffness without adding significant weight.

Material, Finish and Quality Control
We forge bowls & Basins from 316L austenitic stainless. Rim rigidity is checked on larger basins, since a distorted rim means the basin no longer sits flat or stacks correctly. Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on rim rigidity and stacking, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
