Crimping Pliers — Pattern and Clinical Use
Crimpable components — stops, hooks and tubes — are slid onto an archwire and then compressed so they grip and stay put. The crimping plier applies that compression evenly around the component. If the crimp is uneven the component either slips along the wire under load or is over-compressed and distorted, so controlled, symmetrical closure is the whole function.
Beak recesses are shaped to match the component profile, which is why crimping pliers are often supplied in patterns matched to particular component types rather than as a single universal instrument.

Beak recesses are gauged and closure checked for symmetry, since an uneven crimp lets the component slip or distorts it. Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on recess dimensions and closure symmetry, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.
