Joseph Rasps manufactured by Surgical Star
Surgical Star is a Sialkot-based Joseph rasps manufacturer and supplier. Joseph rasps are the classic double-ended nasal rasps used in rhinoplasty, with a different cut or profile at each end. Forged from AISI 420 martensitic stainless, hardened and tempered so the working edge survives repeated reprocessing, then passivated for corrosion resistance — and available as an OEM / private-label line with low MOQs and a sample approved before bulk.

Joseph Rasps — Pattern and Clinical Use

The Joseph pattern gives the surgeon two rasp surfaces in one instrument, which matters in a procedure where instrument changes through a small access are disruptive. One end typically carries a coarser cut for reduction and the other a finer cut for refinement, so the dorsum can be taken down and smoothed without swapping instruments.

Both ends must be finished to the same standard — a common shortcut is to finish the more-used end well. Because the rasp works against thin nasal bone, the cut must be aggressive enough to reduce but controlled enough not to skip.

Material, Finish and Quality Control

We forge Joseph rasps from AISI 420 martensitic stainless. Both ends are inspected to the same standard, since finishing only the more-used end is a common shortcut on double-ended patterns. Each batch passes Rockwell hardness testing, dimensional checks on finish parity between ends, and visual inspection under our ISO 13485 system before passivation and final finishing. Mirror and satin finishes are both available — satin is usually specified where glare under operating lights is a concern.

Joseph rasps sell to facial plastic and ENT distributors as part of rhinoplasty sets, and are the most-recognised named rasp pattern in the specialty.

OEM, Certification and Ordering

Every Joseph rasps can be produced as a private-label line: your logo laser-marked on the shank, your catalog numbers, and your own printed packaging, manufactured from your drawings or a reference sample. Production runs inside a documented ISO 13485 quality system, with CE marking under EU MDR 2017/745 and US FDA establishment registration behind it. Your shipment carries a certificate of conformity plus the ASTM F899 material certificate for the grade actually used.

Minimums stay deliberately low so a new brand can launch without a heavy first order, and pricing is quoted direct from the factory on volume tiers. Bulk production usually takes four to six weeks from sample approval, shipped DDP with export paperwork and HS codes handled. See how OEM & private label works →

Frequently Asked Questions

Why double-ended?

It gives coarse and fine cuts in one instrument, avoiding an instrument change through a small access during the procedure.

What profiles are available?

Straight for flat dorsal work, convex to follow the dorsal curve, and down-cutting angles that work under the raised skin envelope.

Is the Joseph pattern still standard?

Yes, it remains the most recognised named nasal rasp and is a core component of most rhinoplasty sets.

Can you manufacture these under our own brand?

Yes — full OEM and private label. We laser-mark your logo and catalog numbers, pack in your branded boxes, and work from your drawings, tech pack or a reference sample, with a pre-production sample approved before any bulk run.
